Unconditional Love

In Scripture: Ruth 1:16-17; 1 John 4:16-19

For us: Love without conditions. Love with no strings attached. Love that keeps on loving even when we do something wrong or say something by mistake. Love that transcends social boundaries. Love that puts the needs of other's above one's own. The perfect kind of love that casts out all fear, that grounds reality and holds everything together.

Transformative Worship

In Scripture: Isaiah 58:6-12; Selections from John 4

For us: God is always seeking and calling people into fellowship. The fellowship God seeks is not only a vertical relationship between God and people, but also a horizontal relationship between God's people. To love, care, and advocate for others. Worship is love of God and unconditional love of others.

Racial Equity

In Scripture: Joshua 24:14-15

For us: We stand firmly in the reality that our lives matter to one another, that racism and white supremacy threaten our God-given right to flourish, and that racial equity does not look like sitting around the oppressor's table but flipping the tables we were never called to sit around. We believe that to pursue racial justice and equity is to pursue Christ's Gospel of Liberation.

Compassionate Service

In Scripture: Galatians 5:22-26

For us: As people of faith, we are called to serve compassionately. Through acts of kindness and mercy, we lend a hand as often as we can. Service is love in action. Compassion means we "suffer with" our neighbor and support them materially and spiritually as we pursue a more just world. Service is love with its "work clothes on."

Intersectional Justice

In Scripture: Micah 6:8

For us: The church is a “meeting house” where people from all walks of life gather to pursue the good. As people of faith, we are connected in the pursuit of a just world. Justice is God’s plan for the world: a world where everyone has what they need to flourish. The way to this just world is love—and the only way to get there is for us to come together and choose each other. Despite different histories, our futures are tied together.

Christ's Gospel of Liberation

In Scripture: Luke 4:13-21

For us: As disciples of Jesus, we follow the way of liberation. In the face of systemic oppressions that constrain and control us, we cling to this truth: We are created in God's image to be free and flourish. The church works to dismantle spiritual, social, and structural harms that block God's vision of freedom for all God's children.
