The Rev. Sara Garrard, D.Min.

Sara Garrard is the Executive Pastor of the Union Combined Parish. In this role, Sara focuses on executing and endowing the missional vision of Union, integrating vision and capacity for conservation and restoration of Union’s properties, alongside the resiliency and thriving of the congregation. She is passionate about social justice and racial equity.

Ordained in 2022, Sara is an elder in full connection with the New England Conference of The United Methodist Church.

Sara earned a Master of Divinity in 2013 and a Doctorate of Ministry in 2019 from Emory University. Her master’s thesis analyzed the redemption of women and sexuality in art, and her doctoral thesis reimagined churches for more just, sustainable futures.

Sara loves crossfit, her dogs Lawson and Marshall, and spending time with her wife Tamra. From Georgia, she comes from a long line of Methodist pastors.
