The Reverend Ashley Renée is the Union Combined Parish’s Deacon-in-Residence. In this role, Ashley leads the Union book club, provides worship leadership, and helps write liturgy. Her life’s mission is to help young people, especially children of color, listen for and respond to the Divine, working towards greater peace and justice in our communities and world.

Ashley is a provisional deacon in the New England Conference of The United Methodist Church. Previously, she was Union’s director of Christian formation, and minister of worship and faith. She has been an elementary school teacher for over a decade.

Ashley earned a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College in 2007, and a Master of Arts from Brown University.
